EquatIO Guide

EquatIO is an accessible math application and extension that allows you to insert, edit, and interact with digital math in Microsoft Word and Google Suite.

Note: To have equations read aloud, you will also need to have Read&Write software downloaded.

How to Install EquatIO

For Windows and Mac users

  1. Go to EquatIO and click on the “Try EquatIO” button. Select either “Windows” or “Mac” from the drop-down menu.
  2. A pop-up will appear for installation. Click the “Accept and Install” button.
  3. Once the install is complete, you will need to launch it. You can do this by searching for “EquatIO” in the Finder Bar.
  4. After EquatIO launches, it will ask you to log in. Make sure to click “Log in with Microsoft Account” as you will need to use your TC3 log in information.
  5. Log in using your own @mymail.tc3.edu email and password.

Downloading the Google Chrome Extension

  1. Open Google Chrome Web Store and search for “EquatIO”
  2. Select “Add to Chrome.”
  3. Select the “Add Extension” button in the pop-up window.
  4. Click on the EquatIO icon (a blue diamond) in the top right corner of Chrome.
  5. Select “Sign in with Microsoft” and use your @mymail.tc3.edu email and password.

Note: The first time that you use the extension, you will be prompted to allow for permissions in both Google Docs and Google Forms.
