Advising

The office of Student Success: Advising, Career & Transfer supports you throughout your journey at Tompkins Cortland, from enrollment through graduation. We are located in the Enrollment Services Center (room 101) on the main campus Dryden.

You will meet with a Student Success Advisor to register for classes before your first semester.

• During START you are introduced to a variety of campus resources and begin to learn about academic expectations with the goal of meeting each of our Student Learning Outcomes for new students. START is a crucial step in your new student enrollment process.
• Online orientation, in-person New Student Orientation, and Welcome Week provide other opportunities for you to learn about our campus culture and student expectations before the semester begins and right after classes start.

The Student Success team works with all entering students, many part-time students, and students who encounter academic challenges. We offer a variety of advising resources to help with your academic planning.

Once the semester begins, faculty academic advisors are assigned for many students whose interests are related to their academic discipline.
