International Student Application

Complete this application only if you plan to complete a degree in-person at Tompkins Cortland Community College while studying full time on an F-1 Visa

Steps to Apply for a Degree  

  1. Apply as an International Student   
    1. Login to the application portal and complete the International Application  
  2. Submit Required supporting documentation  
    1. Depending on your circumstances, you may be asked to have your  transcript translated, have your previous coursework evaluated through a NACES approved agency, submit English proficiency scores, or provide bank statements, an affidavit of support, and/ or a copy of your passport.   3. Wait for your Admissions Decision  
  4. Send us a copy of your VISA  
    1. Your I-20 will be sent with your admission letter. You will pay the I-901 (SEVIS) fee and make an appointment with the US Embassy in your country to apply for your F-1 visa. Visit our Getting your Visa webpage for more details.  
  5. Complete your new student checklist 
    1. Make your schedule, submit your immunizations and more. You may be required to complete an Accuplacer as part of this process. You will receive email with your complete next steps checklist. 

International students are strongly encouraged to live on campus during their first year!  

Students who live on campus their first year, complete 15 hours of community service per semester, and maintain a 2.5 GPA are eligible for the Be One of Us Scholarship, and in-state tuition, which is a considerable savings
