Established in 1993, this unique program builds strong partnerships with international institutions. These partnerships enable students to study at their home institution during their normal semester and then take classes at Tompkins Cortland for two semesters to complete an American associate’s degree on campus or via a combination of in-person or asynchronous and synchronous online classes. Students will enjoy classmates from other campuses around the world as well as make friends with local TC3 students. Students who complete their TC3 degree in-person over two consecutive semesters on the TC3 campus can complete 12 months of Optional Practical Training, giving them valuable work experience and allowing them to work legally in the USA. With the hands-on learning offered by a community college degree, Global Connections graduates are well-positioned for further study or employment in the USA, so this program represents an invaluable step towards a global future.

To prepare for a collegiate level of academic English, students who need additional work in English take English as a Second Language classes with classmates from around the world. They will work with an academic advisor from TC3 who will help the plan and finish their degree in a timely manner.

You can also take advantage of our partnerships with universities such as the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT). Our proximity to Cornell University and Syracuse University is also advantageous! TC3 is part of the State University of New York (SUNY) System, meaning credit transfer easy, meaning it is simpler to complete a second bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in the United States. For more information, please contact the international programs office at your home institution or email the Global Initiatives Office at global@tompkinscortland.edu.

We currently offer our most popular programs through our specialized two-semester programs. However, any degree program at TC3 has the potential to become a dual degree with your institution. There are many professional national and international certificates that you can supplement your degree with.
