Assistant Director of Enrollment Management Systems

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Assistant Director of Enrollment Management Systems works under the direction of the Director of Enrollment Management Systems and is responsible for coordinating and overseeing day-to-day enrollment operations across the campus. In addition to managing daily operations, this position supports systems integration initiatives and future development projects. The Assistant Director leads the coordination of operational processes such as document and data imports, oversees inbound communications through the Slate inbox, and ensures the accuracy and timeliness of data clean-up tasks, including duplicate record consolidation and managing bounced emails.

This role is responsible for maintaining and improving documentation and continuity across operational processes, procedures, and current business practices. The Assistant Director also collaborates with various campus departments, including marketing, student success, admissions, financial aid, student accounts, athletics, CollegeNow (concurrent enrollment), International/ Global Initiatives, and workforce development, to support communications and campaign development.

This position is within the Professional Administrators Union. Candidates must currently reside or be willing to relocate to New York State at time of employment. Additionally, maintaining New York State residency will be required for the duration of employment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of experience in a related field (higher education, K-12, government or non-profit, peer coaching, an internship in a related field, etc.) are required, or an Associate’s degree and 4 years of relevant experience; Ability to work evening and weekends as needed for program support; must have reliable transportation for site visits, etc.; familiarity with Microsoft Office suite, video-conferencing programs, and cloud-based file sharing. Organizational skills, attention to detail, and being a self-starter are critical for success. This role takes a hands-on approach to troubleshooting functional, process, and system issues and managing these through resolution.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge of Student Information Systems is preferred. Experience with PowerCampus (or other Ellucian products) and experience with Slate is preferred. Knowledge of customer relationship management databases is preferred. Looking for detail oriented and highly organized individual with the ability to manage day-to-day enrollment operations processing needs and the desire to continue to enhance and evolve existing processes. 

EXPECTED HIRING SALARY RANGE:

$60,706-$91,058  Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. JOB DESCRIPTION:

Immediate opening at Tompkins Cortland Community College. The Campus Environmental Health & Safety Officer is responsible for the overall safety program for Tompkins Cortland Community College and its affiliated properties. The individual manages, develops and coordinates safety standards and training to ensure compliance with safety programs throughout the College. The work involves providing advice on accident prevention and occupational health concerns to management and employees. The Campus Environmental Health & Safety Officer identifies areas of vulnerability related to safety hazards, promptly investigates accidents to determine the cause and recommends preventative measures for the future. Work is performed in accordance with policies and objectives outlined by the Director with wide leeway allowed for the exercise of independent judgment in applying policy to specific cases. The Campus Environmental Health & Safety Officer is responsible for ensuring that all state, local and national standards are met. The Campus Environmental Health & Safety Officer may assist Campus Police as requested. The Campus Environmental Health & Safety Officer reports to the Director of Facilities. The incumbent will perform all related duties as required. This position is within the Civil Service Employees Association (CSEA).

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

(a)  A total of 60 credit hours of college education, with an emphasis in Environmental Health and Safety, Biology, Chemistry, Occupational Safety or other related areas AND three-years previous work experience in the safety field; OR

(b)  Graduation from high school AND five years' experience in Environmental Health and Safety, safety training, occupational safety or closely related field; OR

(c)  Any combination of training and experience equal to or greater than that described in (a) and (b) above. 

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Certification for RCRA hazardous material handling and disposal within 1 year of the date of appointment and continuing certification for the term of employment.

Instruct CONT260 – Hydraulics and Hydrology — This course is an introduction to hydraulics and hydrology with applications in civil engineering technology. The first part of the course covers the principles of fluid mechanics, focusing on water as the fluid. Applications such as pressures on conduits and submerged surfaces, flow in pipes and open channels, and flow measurement techniques are explored from study of hydrostatics, hydrodynamics, and open channels hydraulics. The second part of the course covers the study of fundamental hydrology and its application to perform runoff calculations using the rational method to determine peak discharges for storm sewer design. 

Teaching assignments may involve teaching day, evening, online, hybrid, and HyFlex courses.

Instruct PARA215 – Family and Domestic Relations Law — This course is designed for upper-level paralegal majors. Students acquire an understanding of the basic concepts, rules, and principles, as well as some of the basic practical applications that form the foundation of family and domestic relations law. Topics include terminology, courts, matrimonial, divorce, property distribution, child custody and visitation, child and spousal support, child protection, adoption, paternity, domestic violence, juvenile delinquency, and other relevant topics. In particular, students become familiar with common pleadings and documents a paralegal may assist in preparing. They acquire an understanding of relevant laws, especially the New York Family Court Act and New York Domestic Relations Law. In addition, students develop their understanding of courts and procedures, and work to strengthen their research, writing, and drafting skills.

Para-Professional Tutor

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Baker Center para-professional tutor:

•      Provides tutorial services to drop-in and online student clientele.

•      Cultivates a friendly, caring, creative, and open-minded atmosphere.

•      Possesses a positive attitude, respects cultural differences, and believes in each individual's potential.

•      Serves as a role model for students and a mentor to peer tutors and helps guide them through the tutor training process.

•      Demonstrates professionalism and acts as an ambassador for the Baker Center.

In addition, the para-professional tutor works to maintain an awareness of the tutees in the Center and tries to meet the needs of present. During tutorial sessions, the tutor strives to identify and develop each learner's unique strengths and strives to help the tutees become independent learners. 

The para-professional is expected to complete (in a timely manner) all aspects of tutor training and provide mentoring to new tutors. This person may run training sessions and can create modules for online tutor training. Para-professional tutors participate in special projects or initiatives, help to maintain a clean and orderly appearance in the Center and perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

•      Minimum of 2 semesters tutoring or teaching experience.

•      Associate's degree or equivalent (60+ college credits) with a focus on course work in an appropriate discipline.

•      Substantive course work in a relevant discipline including, but not limited to, accounting, biology, chemistry, computer science, math, physics, or English/writing.

•      Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher from current institution of higher education (previous institution if not currently a student).

•      One recommendation from a previous employer (in the teaching/tutoring realm).

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Baker Center professional tutor:

•      Provides tutorial services (both drop-in and online).

•      Helps monitor tutorial activities in the Baker Center.

•      Assists with training and mentors peer and para-professional tutors.

•      Makes recommendations for tutor certification.

•      Provides services for students with disabilities.

•      Demonstrates professionalism and develops training and other materials for the Baker Center.

•      Engages in one-on-one tutoring sessions with assigned high-risk students, particularly students with disabilities.

•      Strives to learn more about these students' specific educational needs as related to their disabilities-seeking this training through reading, consultation with other professionals, conferences, and seminars.

•      Strives to identify and develop each learner's unique strengths and strives to help tutees become independent learners.

As needed, the professional tutor assumes a role in the provision of disability services within the Baker Center for Learning. This may include conducting accommodation memo discussions, preparing alternate format texts and testing materials, participating in all aspects of testing accommodation provision, helping students learn and work with adaptive technology, and more. The professional tutor is expected to learn all the processes associated with disability services provision and is relied upon to complete these tasks. 

The professional tutor also assumes responsibility for the training of the peer tutors and the para-professional tutors-from developing training programs to facilitating the training to overseeing the follow through. Other duties include scheduling, planning of special projects, developing new systems, serving on committees within the College, creating Baker Center signs, hand-outs and other materials, searching for potential peer and para­professional tutors, promoting Baker Center services, and using/promoting special projects such as Strengths Quest.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

•      Minimum of 2 semesters tutoring or teaching experience

•      Bachelor's degree with a focus on course work in an appropriate discipline. (Master's preferred)

JOB DESCRIPTIONResponsible for implementing the classroom program and daily schedule in accordance with policies and philosophy of the FSA Child Care Center and New York State Office of Child and Family Services (NYS OCFS) regulations. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSCompletion of 12 early childhood credits or CDA in 6 months after start of position and one year of childcare experience. 

This position is subject to a criminal background check, NYS OCFS background check and physical are required at the time of appointment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:  Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered two-year college or university with an Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or child-related field OR Child Development Associate (CDA) and one year of child care experience OR Micro credential (12 early childhood credits) and one year of child care experience. Current certification in First Aid and CPR required. If a candidate does not possess certification at the time of employment, the incumbent must obtain this certification within three months of the date of appointment. The incumbent must maintain valid certification for the duration of employment.

EXPECTED HIRING SALARY RANGE:  $16.39 to $17.69 per hour. Rate will commensurate with qualifications and experience. Successful candidate will gain experience and education for advancement in the childcare field.

Lifeguard

JOB DESCRIPTION:   The Lifeguard’s primary responsibilities are to provide patron surveillance of the pool area; prevent injuries by minimizing or eliminating hazardous situations or behaviours; and to enforce facility rules and regulations and educate patrons about them.  Recognizes and responds effectively to all emergencies. 

MINIMUM OUALIFICATIONS:  One year of work experience as a lifeguard, current certifications in Life Guarding, First Aid and CPR for the Professional Rescuer w/ AED required.

Responsibilities include assisting the Head Coach with recruiting, player development, practices, games and all other facets of the program, maintaining compliance with all NJCAA Division III regulations. Attends all necessary departmental meetings. A demonstrated commitment to high academic standards as well as healthy lifestyles for student-athletes is mandatory.

QUALIFICATIONS: Previous high school or collegiate level coaching experience preferred. First Aid and CPR for the Professional Rescuer required. A valid driver’s license is required for travel. This position is subject to a criminal background check.

HIRING SALARY:              $1500  to $5000  per season.

TC3 Farm Opportunities

The TC3 Farm, located in Dryden, NY, grows approximately 3 acres of organically grown fruits and vegetables.  Since 2014, our produce has been distributed to the community through CSA, Farm Stands, Campus Dining, Coltivare and local restaurants.  The Farm strives to create a fun, yet efficient and challenging work environment.  The Farm is an integral part of an multi-faceted operation that supports the academic programs of Tompkins Cortland Community College by growing, marketing, and distributing organic produce and providing a hands-on learning lab environment for students.
