Marjolein Schat received her MS in Entomology from Oregon State University and her PhD in Ecology and Environmental Science from Montana State University. Her research focused on invasive species management and plant-insect interactions in a biological weed control framework. In addition to her interests in invasive species management, Marjo in an avid naturalist who enjoys documenting the world around her. She also loves sharing that passion for the natural world with her students. She teaches majors and non-major biology courses including EVNS 101, BIOL 101, BIOL 102, BIOL 104, BIOL 105, BIOL 112 and BIOL 115. In the Fall of 2018, Marjo expanded her teaching duties to include an Ecology and Diversity course at the local Teen Day. Teen Day is a once weekly program for local home schooled teenagers and Environmental Science through Cornell Prison Education Program.
