As Chair of the Photography Program, I enjoy helping students see the world in new ways and discover their direction in photography. Favorite learning activities include cross-discipline collaborations, community research projects, photo field trips, and self-published photo books. During my 2017 sabbatical, I crisscrossed upstate New York photographing the cultural landscape including signs, storefronts, buildings, and people. I’m an active researcher, collaborating with writer Ronald Ostman on several photography books about New York and Pennsylvania history.
